Kiva Lenders Offer $25 to Friends to Lend for Free
Have you ever made a loan to someone in a developing country using a lending organization like Kiva? If so, perhaps you’ve received an invitation by Kiva to invite a friend to join. If you're not familiar with the non-profit organization, Kiva works with microfinance institutions on five continents to provide loans to people without access to traditional banking systems. One hundred percent of the loan is sent to these microfinance institutions, which it calls Field Partners, who administer the loans in the field.
Beginning on August 7, 2012, many current Kiva lenders are eligible to invite a friend to join. For every new friend you successfully invite to join for over the next week, you earn a $25 bonus and your friend will be given a $25 free trial loan to use for trying out Kiva for the first time.
According to Kiva, that’s it. No more commitment necessary. No catch. The goal is to invite new lenders to consider making loans by sharing the inspiration to others.
Funds are limited so if you aren’t an active Kiva lender and would like to start, ask your friends if they received the invitation by Kiva and start lending today!
